we had clara’s 5th birthday party this past weekend. she really wanted dora theme… =)
similar to last year’s princess party, we wanted the food to be something clara can eat, so the menu was very simple.
menu
shrimp quesadilla & chicken quesadilla
crab dip with chips (crackers for guests)
blueberry muffins & chocolate chip muffins
Mixed berries
mini cupcakes for guests
triple layered chocolate mousse cake for the birthday girl (will post recipe soon)
For the party favor, we wanted to avoid any food items to give as gifts. Clara loves eating mini tomatoes, so i got garden in a bag – mini tomato (found great discount on land’s end online store, very random) and cute little erasers in fun shapes from Daiso.
Was the recipe for the triple layer chocolate mousse cake ever posted? My daughter has a birthday coming up and I’d love to try this for her. Thanks
i actually lost the recipe before i got a chance to post it. i will try to work on the recipe and post it soon. just to give you some idea, for the bottom layer, i have used the coconut chocolate cake, and the other two layers were made with heavy cream, gelatin, and flavoring.
Angela, I tried to make the recipe again for you… i hope it is not too late for your daughter’s birthday. We were away on spring break, so I didn’t get a chance until today…

Tiffany,
Thank you for posting this. For Sarah’s birthday, we ended up using the coconut-flour chocolate cake recipe with the buttercream frosting. She loved her cupcake. I am looking forward to trying this recipe as a special treat sometime. Thank you for all the hard work that you do to help our keto-kids love their magic diet.
