Josie

So proud of my keto hero princess Josie……while at daycare to prepare her for preschool and teach her that she can not have any other food other then what Mommy and Daddy sends her our sitter tested her and tried to give her a food she knew she couldn’t have coaxing her saying “It’s ok you can have this”  Josie responded my Mommy didn’t make that I can’t eat that!” the sitter praised and praised her and said that was very good and that is what you want to tell the kids at school  if they try to give you something you can’t have!  We are so proud of our keto hero  Princess Josie!

Keto Hero is a place where kids can be encouraged and caregivers can see how resilient keto kids are while being treated with the ketogenic diet.  Please send in pictures of your keto hero and tell us why you are proud of them!  E-mail to: ketocookmail@gmail.com

Coming up by the end of September, I want to gather Halloween recipes and alternative ideas to dealing with the sugar filled tradition.  If you have a recipe or idea on how to deal with trick-or-treating while on keto, please e-mail me.  I would like to feature an wide variety of options.  I’ll be back to recipes next Monday, it’s been a busy week with school starting!!

  1. Great job, Josie! That is so wonderful. Always happy to hear a successful story. My daughter is also a Keto-kid. Each year when it comes time for a sugary event like Halloween, Mya collects candy… just like the rest of the kids. She is happy to trade in her candy to me in exchange for a toy. It excites her and she never feels like she is missing out.

  2. I am THRILLED to know Josie and be blessed by the strength of her and her parents everyday. She is a special little angel whose beauty comes from within. And Mandi, my dear sweet friend, my prayer for you is simple…May you see all the good that comes from all your hard work through that sweet girl of yours and feel the love that she has for you each and every day. May God continue to improve Josie’s health as He guides your family down His path. Love you! xoxo

    • Thank you so much Brandy for your compassionate heart and kind words! I only wish we lived closer so you could know Josie better! Your support and strength in me truly has helped me so much along this journey! Thanks for always believing in me! Love ya

  3. Thanks ladies it’s been from the support of friends and family that we have been able to get through this! Still very frustrating to not be completely seizure free but so glad to see our little girl back and not doped up and not able to talk! Love you Josie girl!

  4. I am Josie’s grandmother and I am so proud of her and love her so very much. She is an amazing little girl and she is so blessed to have such wonderful parents. Thank goodness that Josie is a good little eater and her Mom makes her such great meals. Josie understands that she needs to eat her full meal. My daughter is a wonderful mother!
