Ketocook.com is a collaborative site dedicated to providing recipes, kitchen products and ingredient information directly to parents and care givers of children on the ketogenic diet.  Information found on ketocook.com is contributed by keto parents who have generously donated their time and efforts to post recipes based upon their own personal experience with the diet.

Ketocook.com’s mission is to fill the void in the practical, day-to-day application of the ketogenic diet.  For some, cooking meals may come easy, for others, time constraints (such as full time jobs) may limit the amount of time they have to devote to cooking experiments.  Sometimes, it is just easier to have a source for inspiration.  Our goal is to compile as many recipes as possible, so everyone can find inspiration to make the ketogenic diet a success with their child.

What makes ketocook.com more than just a collection of recipes?  Various qualified keto dietitians have also taken the time to answer food related questions and elaborate on nutritional aspects of different ingredients.  Remember this does not indicate that all the information found here applies to specific individuals (please read more in our disclaimer).  Often, there is an expectation that dietitians will provide endless meal plans and cooking advice upon diet initiation.  In an ideal world, this would be great, however the fact of the matter is; unless you have cooked ketogenic meals at every ratio, for every type of eater, at all different calorie levels, to every taste preference, you could never know how to teach someone else how to do this.  Keto dietitians are often the only dietitian in their center that specializes in the ketogenic diet.  On a day-to-day basis, they are working very hard to monitor new and existing patients from the medical perspective, and dealing with urgent issues that arise.  Many dietitians put forth a tremendous effort to learn how to cook keto food, but it is often more than one person can achieve on their own.

As families begin their keto journey, they sometimes find that there are many “versions” of the same diet.  Advice and rules on how to implement the diet can vary from center to center.  What may be allowable for patients at one hospital, may be off-limits at another.  This does not mean that there is right way and wrong way, but rather; more than one road to the same destination.  This is due to the fact that currently there is NO Standard Treatment of Care for medical professionals to follow regarding the ketogenic diet.  No two people who are treated with the diet will have the same experience or results.  Ketocook.com will represent many different perspectives of the ketogenic diet, some may apply to you, some may not.

What you will NOT find on ketocook.com is personalized medical or nutritional advice.  Meals and recipes will not be re-calculated upon request to meet individual needs.  No form of advice will be given on allowable supplements and vitamins,  instructions on initiating, tweaking, or modifying the diet for anyone currently being treated with or considering treatment with the ketogenic diet.  This is best left up to a qualified ketogenic medical team!

I am so glad to have found this! My boy was just diagnosed with Glut1 Deficiency and so we are now going to start a new journey with our diets. I had already switched us to a Paleo-esque diet, but this is another big change! I was worried that I would be all alone, but I am finding more resources than I thought!

Wishing you great success with KDT! If you haven’t already, please check out the GLUT1 Foundation, they are a great resource for families. I highly recommend attending their conferences, many families attend and it is great to see all the kids together. I also attend as an exhibitor!

Thank you for all of the work you’ve done! My baby just started the Keto diet and we’re on week three…she’s currently on a 3:1 ratio and I was wondering if you know a handy way to convert other ratios to a 3:1? The Keto Cookbook is filled with such amazing recipes, but I can’t access them in a convenient/efficient manner yet…it took me quite a while to convert a breakfast recipe…there has to be an easier way than just using the ketocalculator and playing with the numbers…right? Thank you! Jenna

Love, love, love this site. My son has been on the ketogenic diet for 1 year and he is doing amazing! I was wondering if anyone knew of any sugarfree/low carb or carb free suckers they have used. Most likely calculated into a meal.
